    THE VISION
    Savannah Fire & Emergency Services Training Division will be an effective & dynamic training unit which provides development, delivery and facilitation of training on a local, regional and state level.

    THE MISSION
    Through dedication and commitment to those we serve, the Savannah Fire & Emergency Services Training Division mission is to provide quality and professional training in a professional learning environment. We will assist each member with training, education and personal development, while making a lasting impact on their performance and career.


    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    The Savannah Fire & Emergency Services Training Division is charged with the training and education of all departmental members in the areas of Fire, Rescue and related emergency services.

    The training staff is operated by a Chief of Fire Training and three (3) Training Captains who are responsible for developing and delivering training programs that meet or exceed applicable state and national standards for fire & emergency service personnel.

    In addition to the training & education requirements addressed by the Training Division, the Training Staff is also charged with the Safety, Health & Wellness of all operations personnel. Each Training Captain serves as the departments Incident Safety Officer on multi-unit responses while the Chief of Fire Training serves as the departments Health and Safety Officer.

    We are eagerly anticipating construction of our new training facility which is scheduled to begin in May 2010.

    Chief Albert S. Wright has been with the Savannah Fire & Emergency Services Bureau his entire firefighting career. He began as a recruit firefighter in April 1989 and worked his way through the ranks to the position of Battalion Chief. He was promoted into the position of Training Chief in September 2009.
